An efficient runner's stride will is around 90 steps per minute (per side).

A swimmer will effectively cover 50m freestyle in 30-40 strokes.

An 8 man rowing team will hit 38-40 strokes per minute in complete, agonizing unison.

Cyclists will go hours on end at 90 revolutions per minute to maintain 50km/hr.

Salsa and quickstep dancers will be moving at over 200 beats per minute.

An strong, endurance athlete or hypoxic athlete (free diver) has a steady heart beat of below 40 beats per minute.

Dragon boat teams will match the drum to paces of 80-120 strokes per minute.

Life is not a sprint and we must all find our rhythm. A steady cadence helps maintain momentum. An object in motion will stay in motion, as Newton's theory goes.

The body innately understands contraction and expansion, activity and recovery, seasonal changes, circadian rhythms, the ebb and flow of the oceans; find the right beat or frequency and you'll be harmonious.
